On the corner of First Point, Noosa. Arrive early for a front-row spot on the sand or along the rocks. Please keep pathways clear for competitors, event crew and beach access.
Yes, but not onto the beach. Dogs are welcome in Noosa, however beach access is restricted. Our competitors receive special permission to be on the sand. Please bring water for your pet and follow Noosa’s local beach rules.
Safety is our top priority. The event goes ahead in rain but not in storms or unsafe surf. Competitors always have the right to withdraw if conditions are not suitable for them and their dog.
Absolutely. The entire Noosa Festival of Surfing event is free to attend. Bring your mates, your sunnies and plenty of noise.
Yes. We give out free Simparica Trio samples for dog owners, plus Surfing Dog merch including hats, stubby coolers and stickers.
Simparica Trio is a monthly, all-in-one chewable tablet for dogs that protects against fleas, paralysis ticks, heartworm and intestinal worms. It’s fast-acting, tasty and built for adventurous dogs who live for the outdoors.
The event starts at 3pm. We recommend arriving at least 30 to 45 minutes early to secure a good viewing spot.
Judges score each team based on wave length, confidence, style and overall performance. The team with the best single wave takes out the Best Wave Award.
For safety reasons, we limit the event to 12 teams. Each dog must be confident in the water, comfortable on a board and well trained before entering. Applications are welcome, however places are limited.
Food and drinks are not supplied by VetShopAustralia or Simparica Trio. The Surfing Dog Championships form part of the Noosa Festival of Surfing, so there are plenty of nearby cafes, food vendors and festival activities to enjoy.
