Wombaroo Horse & Foal Milk Replacer

When mare's milk isn't enough, Wombaroo Horse & Foal Milk Replacer is the ideal substitute to meet your foal's nutritional needs. Formulated to match the nutritional profile of horse milk, it's enriched with whey protein for muscle development and omega-3 & 6 to enhance skin, coat, and brain health. Give your foal the best chance at thriving from day one.

Key Benefits:

  • Replicates the Nutritional Balance of Mare's Milk: Specially crafted to mimic mare's milk, giving your foal a diet that's as close to nature as possible.
  • Loaded with Whey Protein: Contains high levels of whey protein to support and enhance muscle growth, ensuring your foal develops properly.
  • Fortified with Omega-3 & 6: Includes essential fatty acids that benefit skin health, coat lustre, and brain development, giving your foal a great start.
  • Perfect for Foals with Milk Deficiency: Ideal for orphaned or underfed foals, providing them with the crucial nutrients needed for optimal growth.
  • Encourages Robust Growth: Supplies all the necessary nutrients to help your foal grow up strong and healthy, setting the foundation for a thriving future.

How To Use:

  • Prepare the Milk: Mix 1.1kg of powder with 9 litres of warm, pre-boiled water to make 10 litres of milk.
  • Ensure Proper Mixing: Stir thoroughly until all powder is dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  • Allow to Settle: Let the mixture stand for 2 minutes to ensure full absorption.
  • Heat to the Right Temperature: Warm the milk to about 35 C (95 F) before offering it to the foal.

Feeding Instructions:

    • First Week: Feed every 2 hours.
    • Second Week: Feed every 4 hours.
    • Fourth Week: Feed every 6 hours.

Feeding Guide:

    • Different horse breeds have varying birth weights and growth patterns. For instance, a light breed foal typically starts at around 50 kg and gains approximately 1.5kg per day during the hand-rearing period.
    • As monitoring exact weight can be challenging, use the foal's age to estimate feeding volumes.

  • Feeding Methods: Begin with a bottle and lamb's teat; train foals to drink from a bucket if preferred. For self-feeding, serve milk cold to minimise bacteria.
  • Keep Hydrated: Always provide freshwater and pre-boiled water between feedings, especially in hot weather.
  • Milk Storage: Refrigerate for up to 24 hours or freeze for up to 2 weeks. Always use freshly prepared milk.
  • Post-Feeding Clean-Up: Clean the foal's mouth, discard any unused milk, and clean all feeding equipment thoroughly.
  • Seek Professional Advice: For specific care recommendations, consult a veterinarian or experienced breeder.
